Muktinath temple is a sacred pilgrimage place for both Hindus and Buddhists pilgrims. Thousands of domestic and international pilgrim visits to this holy site. It lies at an altitude of 3710 m. Most visitors take a flight from Pokhara to Jomsom and then take a drive to Muktinath. The major religious sites to visit in Pokhara are Tal Barahi temple, Bindabasini temple and Gupteshwor Mahadev cave.

In summary, the first day will be your arrival day. As per your arrival time we can customize the plan. The second day you will visit for a full day sightseeing around Kathmandu. Third day you will visit for sightseeing around Bhaktapur. Fourth day you will drive to Pokhara. On the way you can visit Manakamana temple. Fifth day you will fly to Jomsom and take a drive to Muktinath. Sixth day you will fly back to Pokhara and complete sightseeing in Pokhara. Seventh day you will drive back to Kathmandu and visit Pashupatinath temple for Aarati. Eighth day we will farewell you on your departure.

Itinerary

Your Arrival Time (?) Our representative will meet and greet you at Kathmandu Airport and transfer to your hotel.

At. 06:00 PM: We will give you a short briefing about your tour program at the hotel. If you are arriving late (After 4PM) then we will have a briefing next morning at 9:00AM. If any payment is due, then it will be collected during the briefing time.

At. 10:00 AM: After your breakfast visit for a full day sightseeing of Pashupatinath Temple, Jalnarayan, Kathmandu Durbar Square and Patan Durbar Square and Banglamukhi. All these attractions are UNESCO listed world heritage sites.

Optional Activity: Everest Mountain Flight at 06:00 AM. take-off from Kathmandu Airport (This is about an hour long flight to explore an eye-pleasing view of the Mt. Everest along with other Mountains)

Pashupatinath temple is the largest and holiest shrines for Hindus.This temple, situated on the bank of Bagmati river was built in the 5th century There are around 492 temples, 15 Shivalayas (shrines of Lord Shiva) and 12 Jyotirlinga (phallic shrines) to explore. No entrance fee is charged for SAARC nationals to enter the temple. Although only Hindus are allowed to enter the temple, visitors can clearly see the temple and the activities performed in the temple premises from the eastern bank of the Bagmati river.

Kathmandu Durbar Square is one of the three Durbar Squares of Kathmandu Valley. The Malla king Pratap Malla erected the statue of Hanuman (the Hindu god of power) in this place and it was named Hanuman Dhoka. Taleju Temple, Tribhuvan Museum, the house of Kumari (Living Goddess), Kasthamandap, the temple of Kal Bhairav along with few other temples are some places to explore.

Jal Narayan Temple which is dedicated to Lord Vishnu is also called Budhanilkantha. It is located 9 km north of the main city. The statue of sleeping Lord Vishnu seems like it is floating on the water.

Patan Durbar Square is 5 km southeast of Kathmandu. Major temples are Krishna Temple, Taleju Temple and Bhimsen Temple. Some places to explore there are Patan Museum, Mahaboudha, Kumbeshwor, Keshave Naryan, Vishwanath and Chyasin Dewal and Sundari Chowk .

Banglamukhi is one of the famous temples of Devi ( Goddess ) in Kathmandu. The temple of Baglamukhi is situated in Patan (Lalitpur). There are various other small temples inside the Baglamukhi temple premises. People visit this temple mainly on Thursdays as it is considered as the day of Bhagwati.

At. 09:00 AM: After the breakfast your another full-day sightseeing starts, during that you will visit to the Bhaktapur Durbar Square, Changunarayan Temple, Doleshwor Mahadev, Kailashnath(Tallest Mahadev Statue) and Surya Binayak Temple.

Bhaktapur Durbar Square which is also known as Bhadgaon has 4 major squares: Durbar Square, Taumadhi Square, Dattatreya Square and Pottery Square. Some of the major attractions are Lu Dhoka (The Golden Gate)” which is said to be the most beautiful and richly molded specimen of its kind in the entire world, The Palace of 55 windows and Dattatraye Temple along with some other small temples.

Doleshwor Mahadev is a hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. It is located at the south eastern Part of Bhaktapur district Which is also believed to be the head part of Kedarnath located in Uttarakhand, India.

Changunarayan temple is an ancient Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu. This temple is believed to be one of the oldest pagoda style temples which is also listed in world heritage sites by UNESCO.

Surya Binayak is a hindu temple dedicated to lord Ganesh located in Bhaktapur. It is one of the four popular shrines of Lord Ganesh in the Kathmandu Valley. The temple is also known as the temple of the rising sun.

Kailashnath Mahadev Statue is the tallest statue of lord Shiva which is located in Sankhu, 20 km from Kathmandu. The statue is 144 feet (44 m) in height, and was made using copper, zinc, concrete, and steel.

At. 08:00 AM: After breakfast, start your drive to Pokhara (210 KM from Kathmandu, 7 hrs). Visit Manakamana Temple on the way and continue driving to Pokhara .

Note: The cost of a Cable Car ticket to reach Manakamana temple isn’t included in our given package, which is INR 550 per person.

Manakamana Temple, 10 minutes cable car ride from a station called Kurintar takes you to the temple of Goddess Manakamana who is believed to have the power to fulfill wishes. Kurintar is 104 km away from Kathmandu on the way to Pokhara.

At. 06:00 AM: Early in the morning, we will transfer to the Pokhara Airport. You will fly to Jomsom, check in at the hotel and drive to Muktinath (25 KM from Jomsom) by sharing a Jeep.

It will take about 2 hours to reach Muktinath. After getting off the jeep, you have to walk up for 30 minutes to reach the temple. After visiting Darshan and Pooja, drive back to Jomsom for a night stay. If you have time, you may visit the Mustang Eco Museum. Located near to the airport, this museum houses ancient objects and manuscripts relating to Tibetan culture, herbs, and medicine.

Muktinath Temple is believed to be a place where Lord Vishnu got salvation from Brinda (wife of Jalandhar). The main shrine is a pagoda shaped temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu. It is believed that one washes away all the pain and sins if they take shower in holy water coming from 108 sprouts just behind the temple. Another major attraction would be two ponds in front of the temple where people take a plunge into. Apart from these temple sites, one can enjoy the dramatic landscape of the valley surrounded by mountains.

At. 06:30 AM: Early morning fly back to Pokhara. We will transfer you to the hotel. As per the room available, the hotel will allow you for the early check in. Later visit for a half day sightseeing which Includes Tal Barahi ( A temple situated on a small island in the Phewa Lake), Davi’s fall ( Famous waterfall ), Gupteshwor Mahadev cave, Bindabasini Temple.

David’s falls is an amazing waterfall in Pokhara Valley which is nearly 500 feet long and runs 100 feet below ground level. It is also known as Patale Chhango which means underwater world. According to local old people, On 31th july 1961 a swiss couple Davi went swimming but the woman drowned in a pit. From that day the place is known as David’s falls.

Gupteshwor Mahadev Cave, one of the longest caves of Nepal is nearly 3km long. There are some walls dripping water inside the cave and about 40m in, we can see the statue of lord Shiva. Gupteshwor Mahadev Cave is near David’s falls.

Bindhyabasini temple is situated on the hilltop and 3000m from sea level. This religious place of Hindus living in Pokhara region is devoted to goddess Durga. Goddess Durga which is also known as Kali Mata is the symbol of a bloodthirsty goddess. Many people come here to worship and sacrifice animals.

Beautiful Lake Phewa is the second largest lake of Nepal. It covers an area of about 4.43 sq km with an average depth of about 8.6m, maximum water depth is 19m. The reflection of mount Annapurna can be seen on Phewa lake. Another attraction of this lake is Barahi Temple made in pagoda style, which is an island in the middle of Phewa lake.

At. 08:00 AM: After breakfast, drive back to Kathmandu. Upon reaching Kathmandu, Drop at your hotel. Free evening for shopping around the Thamel area.

At. 05:30 PM: In the evening visit the Pashupatinath temple to experience the evening Aarati on the bank of Bagmati river.

You will be free till your flight time. We will transfer you to Kathmandu airport 3 hours before on time to board the outbound flight. (30 mins drive)
